I am excited and honored to be in attendance and face to face this year for this awesome technology conference. So much has happened since our last face to face and I am eager to share some of the experiences but also share with you the many opportunities that are available for our Emerging Learners and our At-Risk and Special Education Population in the area of STEM Education. I have had the opportunity to attend several workshops thru NASA Space Education Center in Colorado and learn new ways that educators can actively engage our students, especially our struggling students.
Now a little bit about me! I am a 20-year veteran,(yep 20 years)! in education and have taught on all levels of education in most core areas and alternative education. My career has afforded me the opportunity to be a Gifted and Talented Facilitator, Special Education Inclusion Teacher, Department Chair for Science, GAPTeacher with Texas State Aquarium, Interim Principal, Special Education Interventionist, Mentor Coordinator, and Title 1 Coordinator. Currently, I am approaching my third year of Doctoral Studies attending Grand Canyon University pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an Emphasis in Organizational Change K-12 Public Education. I have been awarded several scholarships one recently as one of two teachers in Houston to attend the SEEC Conference in Space Houston, nominated Who's Who in America of Women Educators, and rated as a distinguished teacher last year. I am blessed and fortunate to have this opportunity and have utilized the components as I continue to teach students and help prepare teachers to be effective in the classroom. I look forward to seeing each of you and becoming engaged with some exciting activities stay safe and masked up!!
