Jen Quinton
Klein ISD
Academic Lead Teacher
Spring, TX
This year will be 15th year in education, 10 years of which were served in Aldine ISD and this will be my 5th year in Klein ISD. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work in all content areas with various elementary student populations, including Special Education, Gifted and Talented, and English as a Second Language students.
My teaching philosophy focuses on student-centered, hands-on activities that encourage higher level thinking skills and oral language development. I also teach concepts through various strategies based on the individual needs of my students. We ALL learn differently!
I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Texas Southern University in 2007, and hold certifications in EC - 6 Core Subjects, ESL, and Special Education. Currently, I am working on my master's degree in Educational Administration and should be graduating December 2021.
In 2015 I was named campus ESL Elementary Teacher of the Year at Worsham Elementary in Aldine, and was honored at the SHABE banquet with the Aldine District Teacher of the Year for Elementary ESL that same year. Additionally, I was named Roth Elementary's Campus Teacher of the Year for the 2020 - 2021 school year.
In addition to teaching, I am a proud wife and mom to 3 beautiful daughters. I enjoy cooking and crafting, and keep myself busy with Girl Scouts.
