Mr. Gregory Castille rejoined Houston Academy in 2020 as Curriculum Assistant Principal following two years of service at Hambrick Middle School as an Assistant Principal. His career began at Houston Academy, where he taught 6th Grade Language Arts for two years before being named an ELA Skills Specialist at Reed Academy.

Mr. Castille grew up in the Acres Home community and attended school in the Houston Independent School District, graduating from Waltrip High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. This specialty area informs his leadership and teaching approach, as he views literacy as the foundation of academic progress. Mr. Castille earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas at Arlington in 2015. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Abilene Christian University in Organizational Leadership with a Conflict Management concentration.

Mr. Castille CONNECTs with all stakeholders (learners, leaders, and liaisons) through building a culture and climate of excellence that INSPIREs authentic collaboration and truly IMPACTs scholars’ success. His career aspirations call for all learners to activate their full potential by living their absolute truth. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

During his free time, Mr. Castille enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with his family.
